Patterson Hood
Patterson Hood is an acclaimed singer-songwriter, guitarist, and co-founder of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers. Born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, he grew up surrounded by the region’s musical legacy—his father, David Hood, was a renowned bassist for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. Hood’s work blends rock, country, and soul with sharp storytelling that explores Southern identity, social issues, and personal reflection.Since forming Drive-By Truckers in 1996 with Mike Cooley, Hood has helped shape the band’s gritty, narrative-driven sound on landmark albums like Southern Rock Opera and The Dirty South. He has also built a rich solo catalog, including Killers and Stars and Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance. His newest album, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams, produced by Chris Funk, arrives via ATO Records in February 2025. Whether with the Truckers or on his own, Hood remains a vital voice in contemporary Americana and Southern rock.
John Moreland
John Moreland is a celebrated Americana singer-songwriter whose critically acclaimed 2010s albums built him a devoted following. After releasing the sonically adventurous Birds In The Ceiling in 2022, he took a yearlong break from touring and technology to reset and reconnect with his creative core. That period of rest inspired Visitor (2024), an intimate, self-recorded folk-rock album made at his home in Bixby, Oklahoma, where he played nearly all the instruments himself. Returning to the simplicity of his early breakthrough records, Moreland uses Visitor to explore reconnection, clarity, and emotional honesty—reaffirming his place as one of the most thoughtful and compelling songwriters of his generation.
