Aja: A Tribute to the Music of Steely Dan burst onto the Southwest Ohio music scene in 2005 by organizing and hosting an all-Steely Dan festival in Cincinnati, featuring regional acts and a headlining performance with special guest and Steely Dan drummer Bernard Purdie. Since then, Aja has built a devoted following of fans with faithful recreations of classics like “Reelin’ in the Years,” “My Old School,” “Deacon Blues,” and “Caves of Altamira.”
The magic of Aja lies in its combination of exceptional musicianship and deep reverence for the music of Steely Dan. Their attention to detail captures the intricate arrangements, signature harmonies, and unmistakable grooves of the original recordings while allowing the band the freedom to bring its own energy and personality to every live performance.
The 10-piece Cincinnati/Dayton-based ensemble is made up of accomplished professional musicians who recreate the sophisticated sound of Steely Dan with remarkable authenticity, from the iconic guitar work and rich vocal harmonies to the band’s distinctive horn arrangements and rhythms.
