Chris Standring is a British jazz guitarist known for his signature blend of contemporary jazz and 1970s-inspired musical nuances. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, he has earned a reputation as one of the genre’s most virtuosic and successful artists, with significant radio and chart presence worldwide.
With a catalog of eighteen solo albums, Standring has scored twelve No. 1 radio singles, including the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Track of the Year “Bossa Blue” from his acclaimed 2010 release Blue Bolero. His work includes collaborations with leading jazz figures such as Randy Brecker, Harvey Mason, and Peter Erskine, and his ambitious Abbey Road–recorded project Wonderful World received widespread international praise.
Standring continues to evolve creatively, most recently scoring a Billboard No. 1 with “Top Hat & Tails” from As We Think (2024). His forthcoming 2026 release, Time of Change, is a retro-soulful collection inspired by the golden age of sophisticated arrangements and rich harmonies, featuring a four-piece horn section, orchestral textures, and his unmistakable guitar sound.
