Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Danielle Nicole has spent her life making music and winning fans worldwide. Her stunning new album, The Love You Bleed (Forty Below Records), features twelve heartfelt tracks exploring love, loss, and perseverance. Produced by Tony Braunagel and co-produced by Nicole, with John Porter mixing, the album showcases a tight-knit quartet: Danielle on bass and vocals, Brandon Miller on guitars, Damon Parker on keyboards, Go-Go Ray on drums, and Stevie Blacke on strings.
Nicole’s earliest influences came from her parents—her father on blues guitar and her mother singing with Little Eva & The Works. She rose to prominence with her brothers in Trampled Under Foot, gaining international recognition through the 2000s. Her solo debut Wolf Den (2015) hit #2 on the Billboard Blues Chart and earned over 12 million Spotify streams, followed by Cry No More (2018), a Grammy-nominated album that debuted at #1 and now exceeds 13.8 million streams.
A member of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame and winner of eight Blues Music Awards, Nicole recently recorded a duet with Dion titled “I Aim To Please.” Critical acclaim has been abundant: Guitar World praised her “soulful, inventive playing,” Blues Music Magazine called her performance “soul-rocking,” and The Kansas City Star noted her powerful artistic growth. Blues legend Koko Taylor summed it up simply: “That girl gets down to the nitty gritty!”
