New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre to perform at intimate venues for an up-close and personal night of music with the iconic singer

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Joey McIntyre is thrilled to announce he’s heading out on tour this summer for the Solo Joe Tour: a series of intimate concerts celebrating his iconic career in pop music and Broadway. Fans will have the opportunity to get up-close and personal in this soul-baring new show that will have the New Kids on the Block superstar singing some of his favorite songs from his nearly 40-year-long career, plus much more.
From Joey:
“I’m very blessed to be in a very successful band that gets to perform for a lot of people, and what we have is very special, but it’s important for me to balance that out and express myself as a solo artist as well — both things feed each other.
So, I am doing this tour because if I don’t do it, I’ll regret it. The stage is home to me. I’ve been very lucky to play so many different stages from Broadway to arenas but there’s something about doing a tour like this: very intimate, very up-close and personal that really hits me right in the heart. It’s a lot of work and it’s a lot of soul-searching but once I get up there, it’s always worth it. I’m so excited to get out there and hit the road.”
Joey has worked extensively as an actor in film and television and has a long history in the theatre, including the original off-Broadway production of Tick Tick Boom, as well as starring in Wicked and Waitress on Broadway. This past January he made his sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall. This summer, Joey will star in the Lifetime mini-series “Dawn” based on the famed V.C. Andrews book series.
Best known as the youngest member of NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK, Joey McIntyre has also enjoyed success as a solo artist, starting with his debut album Stay the Same, which was certified Gold and delivered a top ten single, penned by Joey himself. McIntyre has also co-written more than half a dozen songs for the New Kids including “Still Sounds Good” and the Blockhead anthem “Block Party.” And he’s excited to share some new material on this upcoming tour.
