Lindsey Webster made history in 2016 with her original “Fool Me Once,” the first vocal-driven #1 song to top the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart since Sade’s 2010 hit, and held the position for four weeks. That same year, she was named Billboard’s #1 Contemporary Jazz Artist. Growing up in the artist community of Woodstock, NY, the daughter of loving hippie parents, Webster was surrounded by music from a young age, listening to Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Elvis Costello, and later the Supremes. Her influences span Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Steely Dan, and Earth, Wind & Fire, and she continues to explore a wide variety of music today, from Bob Marley to Lake Street Dive and Raveena.
Webster made her Shanachie debut in 2016 with Back To Your Heart, which spawned three Top 3 Billboard Contemporary Jazz hits. Subsequent albums—Love Inside (2018), A Woman Like Me (2020), and Reasons (2022)—feature charting singles and collaborations with artists including Nathan East, Nicholas Payton, Randy Brecker, Brian Culbertson, Kev Choice, and Lil John Roberts. At the heart of her work is a focus on relationships, celebrating joy while not shying away from disappointment, and showcasing her ongoing evolution as an artist. Webster describes her career as “an unfolding journey” full of excitement around every corner.
