Progressive rock pioneers Nektar return to the stage with their signature immersive “Sound and Light Theatre” experience, blending new music, evolving visuals, and a renewed creative energy more than 50 years into their career.
Their latest album, Mission to Mars, sold out its first pressing and is already headed for a second, signaling strong momentum for a band that has never settled into nostalgia. Instead, Nektar continues to push forward, driven in part by the creative connection between frontman Ryche Chlanda and former King Crimson co-founder Ian McDonald—a relationship that has sparked fresh interest among longtime fans and progressive rock audiences alike.
As part of the current live show, Nektar also pays tribute to In the Court of the Crimson King, performing selections like “21st Century Schizoid Man,” “The Court of the Crimson King,” and more, alongside new material that reflects the band’s present-day evolution. The result is a set where classic influence and new creative direction meet in real time.
Paired with modernized projection work and expanding visual effects, the band’s concerts remain fully immersive—continuing the tradition that first set Nektar apart while proving their story is still very much unfolding.
