After an astonishing 60-year career that included pivotal roles in Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band, Richie Furay’s signature vocals still resonate with depth and beauty as he approaches 80 years old. His dynamic stage presence and connection with audiences create truly artistic moments of reckoning.

Born in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Furay was drawn to music early through his father’s love of country radio. The blend of country, blues, and emerging rock & roll in the 1950s became his home. After learning guitar at eight and singing in college folk clubs, he met Stephen Stills, joined the AuGoGo Singers, and soon after helped form Buffalo Springfield with Stills, Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, and Dewey Martin—securing a place in music history.

When Furay founded Poco in 1968 with Jim Messina, Rusty Young, Randy Meisner, and George Grantham, his influence on country rock was cemented. “Rock & roll and country, that’s really what I’m all about,” he explains. “I have always loved country music, and the idea of putting it together with rock & roll with a steel guitar seemed natural from the start.”

Today, Furay’s performances remain a celebration of life and love—culminating each night with his Poco classic, “A Good Feelin’ to Know,” a gift from one of rock & roll’s true pioneers.
