Robert Glasper is a leader of a new sonic paradigm with a career that bridges musical and artistic genres. He boasts 5 Grammy wins and 15 nominations across 9 categories, an Emmy Award for his song for Ava DuVernay’s critically hailed documentary 13th with Common and Karriem Riggins, and a Peabody Award for his composition of Mr. Soul!. His work spans live touring, film scoring, composing, and producing.
Evolution is his hallmark. Glasper’s breakout crossover album Black Radio changed the face of the genre and won him the Grammy for Best R&B Album, establishing him as a key collaborator for artists including Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp a Butterfly, including the Grammy-winning “These Walls”), Mos Def, Bilal, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West. The Black Radio series remains central to his ongoing creative community.
Glasper continues to push boundaries through projects including his trio with DJ Jahi Sundance, August Greene with Common and Karriem Riggins, and R+R=Now. His recent Apple Music releases include In December, Let Go, and Code Derivation, the latter earning a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Jazz Album.
He also hosts Black Radio Backstage for Tidal League and curates The Black Radio Experience in Napa, alongside a long-running residency at the Blue Note NYC featuring guests such as Dave Chappelle, Questlove, and Andra Day. Glasper remains at the center of a movement championing Black music, culture, and creative possibility.
