Formed in Boston in 1986, The Lemonheads have long thrived at the intersection of chaos and charm. Led by Evan Dando’s melodic instincts and ragged charisma, the band broke through with 1992’s It’s A Shame About Ray and 1993’s Come On Feel The Lemonheads, establishing Dando as one of alternative rock’s most compelling songwriters.
Over the years, The Lemonheads’ shape has shifted, but at the core has always been Dando’s songwriting: wry, vulnerable, catchy, and true. Following his acclaimed solo album Baby I’m Bored in 2003, The Lemonheads returned with a self-titled album in 2006, followed by Varshons and Varshons 2. Their catalog continues to blend punk energy with melodic pop and emotional clarity.
The Lemonheads returned in 2025 with Love Chant, their first studio album in nearly two decades. Their influence continues to be felt across alternative and indie rock, with artists including Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, Phoebe Bridgers, and MJ Lenderman citing the band as a touchstone.
