For The Outlaws, it’s always been about the music. For more than 40 years, the Southern Rock pioneers—known for their triple-guitar attack, soaring harmonies, and hits like “Green Grass & High Tides,” “There Goes Another Love Song,” and “Knoxville Girl”—have remained one of the genre’s most enduring and best-loved bands. Formed in Tampa in 1972, they quickly rose to prominence as one of the first acts signed to Arista Records, earning a reputation as “The Florida Guitar Army” while touring alongside the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
After years of triumphs, challenges, and the loss of founding members, Henry Paul returned to lead the band in 2008, guiding The Outlaws back to the sound and spirit that defined them. Their 2012 album It’s About Pride marked a celebrated comeback, reaffirming their legacy while introducing a revitalized musical focus. Today, Paul—joined by Dave Robbins, Randy Threet, Jimmy Dormire, Mike Bailey, and Jeff Aulich—carries the torch forward with a lineup of seasoned Southern Rock players.
Onstage, The Outlaws burn hotter than ever. Their live shows, captured on the acclaimed 2016 release Legacy Live, blend classic fan favorites with newer material from It’s About Pride and Dixie Highway, proving that their harmony-driven, guitar-fueled sound still resonates. More than four decades in, The Outlaws remain united by history, brotherhood, and an unshakable pride in the music that continues to define them.
