The Wellermen first captured global attention in 2021 when their viral sea shanty performances helped spark the worldwide “Wellerman” phenomenon, generating billions of views and leading to appearances at The BRIT Awards and on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. What began as a digital moment has since evolved into a fully realized transatlantic live band with a devoted global fanbase. They mix the East Coast folk sensibilities of basses Bobby Waters and Luke Taylor (Boston and Pennsylvania) with the British musicianship of Jonny Stewart and Seb Payne, and the theatrical energy of Sam Pope, who starred in the West End.
